LANCASHIRE AND CHESHIRE COLLIE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2011

My thanks to the committee who made my first CC judging appointment so special and to all the exhibitors who entered under me. I was looking for correct heads , flat sculls without any coarseness. Strong well arched necks and good lay of shoulders/return of upper arm. Good length of body and strong sound movement. I found these virtues in most of my first place dogs.

Minor puppy bitch (4)

  1. Blakes' CORYDON GRANDE FLORA. Beautiful balanced sable/white 8 months old puppy, and so well balanced. Lovely head with correct well placed ears and eye. Good strong arched neck, good lay in the shoulder and moved out with purpose for one so young BEST PUPPY IN BREED

  2. Gallagher's GEMHEID WRITTEN IN WRIBBONS. Another very nice 6 month old b/m puppy. Lovely head, good reach of neck, stood four square. Very similar to winner in many ways but I just preferred the first on movement.

Puppy bitch 9 (1 abs)

  1. Randall's LADNOR SKYLARK. Very confident 11 month b/m puppy with plenty of bone and substance. Nice eye and expression, stood and showed well. Moved with ease around the ring A easy winner of this class today.

  2. Ward's COTSWOLDWAY MOONLIGHT Another very nice puppy who was a shade longer than one but with good angulation, correct head and nice length in the neck just lost out on movement which I hope will improve with age.

  3. Edward & Brooke's JOPIUM LOVE'S ALL AROUND

Junior bitch 12 (1 abs)

  1. Barrettt's BROOKLYNSON MARTI . 17 month old s/w Well balanced with a nice dark eye. Slightly too heavy overall for me but she fits the standard and moved effortlessly around the ring, present in excellent order and I considered her for the CC.

  2. Quince's CORYDON FAYVORITE 16 month old similar to one but a shade smaller. Very well balanced correct head pattern but she left her coat at home today so nothing to hide. Moved well.

  1. Edward's JOPIUM LOVES ALL AROUND Nicely made bitch correct head dark eye. Movement was the best in this class Presented and groomed beautifully.

  1. Pitchforks WICANI NIGHTINGALE OVER MERRIMEDE 3 years old tri bitch very nicely made, nice head good neck shoulders and length/ tight feet stood four square this bitch needs to be handled to be appreciated as her markings detract from the overall picture. Moved with ease.

  1. Steven's BOUGHLEE MIDNIGHT SKY Nicely balanced mature Tri bitch who stood four square. Nice head lovely ears giving a good expression. Good length of neck and lay of shoulder. She moved out with purpose a good example of the breed I was pleased to award her the Res CC.

  2. MacDonald's ROSSAVON DREAM COME BLUE. Another nice Blue Merle bitch and I was really splitting hairs between these two but No 1 won on overall quality. .

  3. Harvey's WICCANI LIGHTS OF AMETHYST

Limit Bitch 9 (2 abs)

This was a lovely class to judge and contained some very nice bitches, the best class of the day.

  1. Blake's CORYDON FOLLOW ME Beautiful sable bitch who oused quality. Her head is a excellent example of what a collies head should be. Good Length of neck, correct shoulder/return of upper arm, excellent length of body and moved out with purpose and grace. Everything I was looking for in my top bitch. CC

  2. MacDonald's ROSSAVON ANGEL IN DISGUISE . Shaded sable similar to one, another good example of the breed, but not as good on the move as my winner.

  3. Granger & Mitchell's SAMHAVEN CLASSICAL MUSIC.

  1. Mellish's DEMELEWIS RAVEN MOON SHCM 6 years old tri bitch the best mover in the class. Very nicely put together with a lovely head and expression, she just lacked overall furnishing.

  2. Abbot's COTSW3OLDWAY DIAMOND LIL s/w an other well balanced bitch but I preferred 1 on her movement.

  3. Hawkin's BRILYN GOODBYE TO LOVE.
